Stephin Booth is a locally known percussionist with professional ties to Los Angeles California. He has worked on music projects with internationally known artists/groups such as Babatunde Olatunji, Dwight(The Professor)Baldwin, The Sylvers, Betty Everette, the Chambers Brothers, The Chambers Family Singers, Leon Ndugu Chancellor, War, Rudy Ray Moore, Rosie Grier, Little Richard, Kashif ,Debbie Allen, Cathy Person , Tranora Parker and The LA Cathedral Choir, Hezekiah Walker, Michael Wycoff, Rose Royce, Manhattan Transfer. He currently resides in Little Rock AR, where he is an integral part of the Afro Caribbean style drumming scene working either in the past or presently with highly acclaimed music professionals such as Tim Anthony, LeRon McAdoo, Merlon Devine, Bethany Devine, Marquis Hunt, Gerald Johnson, Rico Zaragoza, Darrell Yancy, Emerge/ Shemell Riveter, Keithan Epps and The Voices of Praise, Marlon Davis, Steve Huddleston, Ted Williams, Jeff Taylor. In 2005 he connected with City Year and facilitated a Caribbean Drumming Exhibition/Workshop which led to an invitation to open for President Clinton at the William Jefferson Clinton Congressional Library in Little Rock, Arkansas and perform an Afro Caribbean Drumming Exhibition. Rico Zaragoza assisted in the performance and the audience loved it! This also led to an invitation to facilitate Workshops and Exhibitions for the Central Arkansas Library System at the libraries in Little Rock and surrounding areas. From that time on the word got around and he was blessed with opportunities to share the knowledge of the drum with organizations such as the Heifer Foundation, the Little Rock Children’s Hospital, the Arkansas Arts Center, The President’s Council Winter Meeting, Lead the parade of the Little Rock Zoo 80th Anniversary Celebration sponsored by Verizon Wireless, Children’s International/UALR, The Power Play Awards at The Robinson Center The 10,000 villages Grand Opening, Ferncliff Presbyterian Organization, the Southwest Middle School After School Cultural Enrichment Program, Step Incorporated, Unity in the Community, After school drumming projects at Wakefield and Wilson elementary schools, more recently The Brandon House Cultural and Performing Arts Center provided a grassroots, boots on the ground, community based venue which led to sharing Afro Caribbean Drumming with at risk youth during 2021 and 2022. Drumming Workshops and Exhibitions for the Central Arkansas Library System Summer Reading Club we’re well received. Presently drumming presentations at various libraries are being hosted by CALS after school program for community enrichment. In 2023 the website www.worldpercussionist.com came into being there is more to come!
